The unit is more easy to use due to the high-performance microcomputer
(CPU) packing NSK`s long established know-how and latest ideas about dental
engines. Controlling the motor optimally according to the materials to
be cut such as metal, gypsum and resin and the bur in use has eliminated
previously caused chattering and jumping of the bur. This allowsmore precise
and smooth cutting and polishing. Also, either motor handpiece UM50T
or UM50C is connected to the unit is automatically judged, so that
the characteristics of each motor can be used to the full.
Eco-Friendly Design
The electronic circuits have been eco-friendly designed, minimizing
the power consumtion. Power losses generating heat in the unit are very
small, and no radiating fan is required.
AUTO CRUISE Function
The unit is provided with the AUTO CRUISE function to fix the rotation
speed during work with the foot pedal. Since the same work can be continuously
performed without using the foot pedal, foot fatigue can be reduced.
Compliance with EMC and other safety standards
NSK also gives consideration to invisible performance. ULTIMATE 500
complies with the world´s most rigorous EMC* standards in the Europe.
It has been designed to be very safe in electromagnetic terms so as to
curb a generation of jamming electromagnetic wawes (noise) which may cause
a failure of malfunction in other equipment and so as not to be affected
by external electromagnetic waves. It also complies with strict safety
standards EN50144-1 in the Europe. Safety of workers comes first. *EMC

Self-Diagnosis Function
The unit is provided with self-diagnosis function to understand the
status of the unit and motor on startup and when trouble occurs in consideration
of safety.
Error Code Display Function
The unit includes the error code display function to check the status
of the unit for easy troubleshooting when trouble, such as a failure,
overload or wire breakage, occurs.
Smooth operation
Since the microcomputer always monitors the operation of the motor,
start and stop operations are very smooth, being free form cocking (tapping)
in low speed area. Also, even if the rotation is switched from forvard
to reverse while the motor is running, the rotation is reversed after
its stop is confirmed, therefore no shock is felt in hand. The design
is safe and easy on the hand.
2-Digit Digital Display
A correct rotation speed is digitally displayed by the 2-digit display.
Even when the motor is stopped, the rotation speed can be set and checked.
It is very safe that whether or not the set rotation speed is within the
corrected range can easily be checked before rotation when a large bur
is used. While the motor is running, the actual rotation speed appears,
and one second after stopping, the set rotation speed appears.
Maintenance Mode Setting
The unit is provided with the maintenance mode to check the basic operations
of switches, digital display, pedal, motor, etc for trouble. When trouble
occurs, this is useful for users to find the faulty point easily.
Front panel having good operability
The power switch is highly reliable dust-proof switch, and is arranged
one step below the panel so as not to be pressed by mistake. Other switches
are panel switches that excel in operability and design.
Operation Check Sound
Ewhen each switch is operated, long or short beeps are made so that
operation can be checked more reliably.
